Nigeria's culture is greatly affected by it's 4 main tribes, the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa-Fulani, and IJaw people. Their food, clothing, music, holidays, and customs are all influenced by these tribe's way of life, as well as environmental aspects such as rain and harvests. The available crops influence the food that is eaten, as well as the fabrics that can be made to create clothing. Many of their ceremonies they instigate serve the purpose of pleasing their environment such as the sun, rain, and other aspects of agriculture. Many of these traditions are still in place today, however popular culture has diffused to Nigeria, possibly challenging some of these more traditional customs. Although some consider this to be a bad thing, it might be good for the country, as some of their customs such as ownership of women should not be supported.
