Throughout the years since Nigeria has been independent, it has gone through many stages of interregional, intraregional, and international migration. From emigration to Europe, to immigration from neighboring countries, there is a lot to talk about with regards to this topic in Nigeria. Many people move out of Nigeria due to political unrest and violence, and others move in because the conditions in Nigeria are slightly better than those in their current countries. Nigeria used to quite a popular place to move for jobs, due to the many oil rigs and factories that were located there. Now, however, with the price of oil falling, job opportunities are not much of a pull factor for people in other countries considering to make the move.
